Choose an Alarm Installer that Observes Industry Standards

Depending on your circumstances there is will be a range of reasons why you select a particular alarm installer. Trust is what is utimately comes down to. Trust is built on reputation through:

  • undertaking rigorous external auditing by the National Security Inspectorate
  • working to the highest industry standard
  • providing testimonials from existing customers

Gold Standard Accreditation
External auditing is important. It proves that the alarm installer meet the expected standards for our industry and is a significant factor in whether to trust your home or business to our care. This requires the alarm installer to be inspected at least every six months. Ensuring that it meets all UK and EU standards. As well as meet the ISO9000 quality management system standard and NSI Quality Schedule SSQS 101 and demonstrate long term proof of reliability and stability. To achieve and maintain the Gold standard these standards must be met in intruder alarms, door access equipment and CCTV surveillance systems. NSI is the alarm industry’s national body and further information can be found on the NSI website.

Commercial and residential customers can be assured that their alarms will provide the protection needed.

Backed up with a guarantee
If you are not 100% satisfied with your new alarm once installed, the installer should agree to take it out and refund your payment immediately. Ask if this guarantee will even cover the insurance excess in the unlikely event of a burglary when covered by one of their burgalar alarms.

Code of Practice
Check the alarm installers website and find out if they have a code of practice. Ask existing customers if they stick to that code in the pre-install and post-install work. Check that they offer a high level of duty of care. Here is a good example of a bath alarms company however, even if you don’t live in the locality covered by them you now understand the importance of standards..
